What happened

Landlord applied for an order to require Tenant to pay the rent that the Tenant owes. The Tenant vacated the rental unit on October 3, 2022, prior to the hearing date.

The ruling

The tenancy is terminated effective October 3, 2022. The Tenant shall pay the Landlord $7,192.03, which includes rent arrears up to September 30, 2022 and the cost of the application, minus the rent deposit and interest owed to the Tenant. If the Tenant does not pay the full amount by November 1, 2022, they will owe simple interest at 4% annually on the outstanding balance.
