What happened

Landlord applied for an order to terminate the tenancy and evict Tenants due to persistent late payment of rent. The Tenants disputed the application, claiming they always communicated with the property manager about late payments and had valid reasons. The Board found that the Tenants paid rent late at least five times in 2021, and ordered them to pay rent on time for the next 12 months.

The ruling

The Board ordered the Tenants to pay rent on time for 12 months starting February 2022. The Tenants must also pay the $186 application fee in three installments. If the Tenants fail to make any payment, the Landlord can apply for eviction within 30 days of the missed payment.
